The Challenge
In their search for a suitable new software solution, those responsible at Himmelsbach & Streif insisted that the existing PBX telephone system be retained. Therefore, the challenge to the new communication solution was to link the PBX system with a modern means of communication, thereby unifying multiple data management in different areas with regard to standardizing their telecommunications. This makes it easier for employees to communicate effectively with clients, authorities and agencies.
After intensive exploration of the communication solutions available on the market, the people responsible decided on an Avaya telephone system, the IP Office 500, as well as ProCall Enterprise and MetaDirectory, from the independent Starnberg software producer estos. ProCall Enterprise is a Unified Communications solution with CTI, presence management and instant messaging, which enables collaboration and communication within the organization and with the option of federation, across company borders. The combination of ProCall Enterprise with DATEV pro convinced the management immediately.
Thereby, the work and telephony process is integrated into the leading business application DATEV pro, simplifying recurring workflows. With MetaDirectory, the master data is connected and thus made available for communication. "This allows us to simplify our master data management with DATEV, and Outlook with estos, and to offer employees a modern and efficient search in all contact data sources with the use of hotkeys and various convenience functions," according to Alfred Himmelsbach, CEO at Himmelsbach & Streif. ProCall Enterprise also benefits employees with its multi-site network. In addition to direct dialing from the DATEV application, the estos solution is also used as a helpdesk.
